Poetica de Patientia is a space for the poems in my brain to settle into their own little home. I find my inspiration mainly from the themes of heartache and hope, which are experiences often difficult to separate (and maybe it was always supposed to be that way).
The rough Latin translation of “Poetica de Patientia” is “Patient Poetry”. So much of my experience with writing has been one that required a lot of patience: patience in finding the right words for what I was feeling, patience in feeling genuine inspiration, and patience with myself as I learn, grow and change in life.
Poetry as an art form tends to require a lot of patience not only of the writer, but also of the reader. I struggled in analyzing poetry when I had to read it for school. I only started to gain insight into the intricate beauty of the lyrical arrangement of words when I patiently let the phrasing and diction of lines and stanzas sink into my senses and stay awhile. I may ask that you be patient with me as you read and patient with yourself too.
The beauty of art is that it can touch us in many different ways depending on what we are going through. I hope that if anything, after reading, you may be inspired to write and/or create as a means of catharsis, for writing is one of the most powerful ways to be a student of your own emotions.
With wishes for inspiration to mingle with the ink of your pens and glimmering hope to patiently mend the crevices of your hearts,
